Former Lord Mayors’ Residence Morwick Hall sells out in record time

Morwick Hall, part of Mortec Office Park has leased its entire office space in just six months. The Grade II Listed building comprising 7000 sq. ft. of office space, was formerly the headquarters of Crosby Lend Lease who vacated the premises in October 2010.


Reacting swiftly to the challenging market conditions, Prospect Estates Limited who own the site, took the decision to convert the property into 23 executive serviced office suites and the final suite was let last week.

Peter Shackleton of Prospect Estates commented, “We knew that leasing the property as a  single company headquarters would be a competitive task in today’s market. With this in mind we took the decision to split the property up into executive serviced office suites – a strategy that has been more successful than any of us could’ve anticipated.”

The property, which is located just off the A64 between Seacroft and Thorner enjoys a greenbelt location and is set amidst landscaped gardens. A former residence with a rich history, Morwick Hall was purchased by the Gray Family in the mid to late eighteenth century.  An influential man, Edward Gray latterly became Lord Mayor of Leeds in 1749 and 1768. Enthusiastic Wesleyan’s, the family was also the driving force behind the building of the Methodist Chapel in Scholes.
