Is your website mobile friendly?
Don’t miss Google’s deadline and stay ahead of the competition
As a digital agency we’re constantly in touch with our account handler at Google’s head office and we we’ve been given the heads up on the latest Google algorithm update, to come into effect from on the 21st April. We expect this update to have a huge impact on any website that isn’t optimised for mobiles using responsive design.
Google’s job is simple, it’s all about providing the end user with the most relevant and unique content for each search but they also ensure that the content is served on a trusted and user-friendly website therefore this change will see websites that are responsive ranked higher in the search engines than those that aren’t.
The first question you need to ask yourself is:
“Is my website responsive?” If you’re unsure what this means exactly, this is our technical director Adam Bushell’s explanation:
“Responsive design exists to provide web users with an optimal viewing experience across all devices. The technology allows the assets on a web page to adapt and respond to device for easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling.”
This Google deadline (April 21st) is an important deadline to embrace responsive design because you will be penalised by Google in their search results which affect your business. Mobile traffic to websites is dramatically increasing year on year and will continue to do so, meaning it is no longer an option for businesses to not have a responsive website in this digital age we live in.
At Impression we design responsive as standard. Time may be running out, but we are here to help. Whether you need a new website or would like to update your current website to be mobile responsive. Give us a call today on 01423 313237 or fill our project form and get your website sorted!
